Method:

4.    Make the center core of the rose by wrapping the core around the widest part of the brush handle. Secure it at the base with craft glue and sticky tape.  Remove the bush.  Ensure that the base remains open as you work.  You will be able to insert a sick to form the stem of the rose.

5.    Select three petals.  Cut the base off and cut incisions about 2 cm - 2.5 cm deep into the base of the petals.  Set aside for step 10.

6.     Fold the towel to form four layers and place a petal on top.  Use the spoon to soften the paper by applying pressure and sliding the back of the spoon from the center towards the edge of the petal.  Repeat several times to cover the whole petal.  The edges of the petal should start to curve up.  Use your fingers and scrunch a 1cm rim around each petal.  Repeat for the remaining petals.

7.    Select half of the petals to form the inner petals of the rose.  Form a cone with each of these petals and release the cone.  Set aside for step 9.

8.     Use the brush handle and curl the remaining petal edges around the handle to add more dimension and structure to form the outer petals. Set aside for step 9.

9.    Assemble the rose: Place craft glue at the base of a petal and fold it around the core.  Secure it with sticky tape at the base.  Repeat with the remaining inner petals.  Offset each petal slightly to obtain a natural look.  Curve the petal tops outwards as you work.  Continue with the outer petals shaping the petals as you go along.

10.  Finish the rose off with the three petals prepared in step 5.  Use the clear drying craft glue to stick them around the outside of the rose.  Secure the petals with an elastic band at the base until the glue has dried.
