DIY Recycle: Cardboard flower and pillow box

 Materials:
  • 1x inner cardboard toilet roll
  • 1x soft inner cardboard support found inside gift wrap paper rolls
  • 1 x button
  • Pastel pencils
  • Pencil, scissors, hot glue and stapler

Method
  1. Make a pillow box from the cardboard toilet roll by folding the open ends inwards so that the edges meet.  Decorate the pillow box outer surface with abstract design using a pencil and highlight the design with pastel pencils.

  2. Download the flower pattern and use it to cut out 6 flowers and 4 flower centers from the cardboard.  Cut a fringe around each flower center.

  3. Highlight the edges of the cut out designs with pastel pencils.

  4. Arrange the six cut out flowers and the four flower centers into a flower and secure with the stapler or hot glue.  Shape the flower for a more 3-D effect.

  5. Glue the button into the flower center and attach the flower onto the pillow box.  Use the pillow box for a small gift or voucher.
