This pattern for finger-less gloves is a satisfying project that
will use up that extra skein of wool in the cupboard and can be competed in an evening or two
in front of the television.
Materials:
- 50 g Elle Lincoln yarn
- 2.5 mm knitting needles and 3.25 mm knitting needle, darning needle
Pattern: (Knit two)
Cast on 60 stitches using the 2.5mm knitting needles.
Ribbing at the wrist
Row 1: Knit 5 (k5), purl 5 (p5) from beginning of row to
end.
Row 2-12: Continue the ribbing pattern of k5, p5 from
beginning of row to end.
Change knitting needles to 3.25mm.
Row 13-22: Continue the ribbing pattern of k5, p5 from
beginning of row to end.
Row 23-52: Knit one row purl the next row, continue pattern until
row 52.
Ribbing at the fingers
Row 53-60: K5, p5 from beginning of row to end.
Change to 2.5mm knitting needles.
Row 61-70: Continue the ribbing pattern of k5, p5 from
beginning of row to end.
Cast of in pattern.
Fold the knitting in half with the right side facing. Align
the edges and stitch the side seam closed using left over wool and a darning
needle. Allow a 5 cm opening for the thumb. The positioning of the thumb
opening starts just below the finger ribbing. Hide any threads in the knitting
to finish off the glove. Turn right side out to complete. Repeat to make a second glove.
