DIY: Paper craft 3D birthday cake card

This simple 3D birthday card is quick and easy to make and can also be used to store a small gift or voucher.

Materials:

• A4 cardstock – I used beautifully printed scrapbooking paper
• Decorations (optional)
• Craft knife and cutting mat, scissors, ruler and paper glue
• Download pattern (PDF) 

Method:

1. Copy the pattern onto card stock and scorch along the dotted lines. Fold the bottom of the cake. Open up again and write a message inside.

2. Fold the top of the cake to form the lid. Glue the overlaps into place to secure the lid. Decorate the lid.

3. Assemble the 3D card by folding up the three side of the bottom of the cake and slipping the top of the cake over the sides to complete the card.
