Reversible three-cable snood.

BushcraftZ 2014
I have not knitted a cable project for a few years and wanted to refresh my memory. I found this inspiring you-tube tutorial   which shows how to knit cables that are identical on both the front and back of the work, making an ideal pattern for a scarf or snood showing both sides. Inspired to try this I decided to practice my cable knitting skills by using left over yarn in various shades of pink and made this berry colored snood.
I share my easy pattern with you based on three basic cable designs.

Materials:
  • 3 100g Elle pure gold, 4 ply,  approx 312m ( I used 3 different shades of pink)
  • 3.25mm knitting needles (US 2-3, UK10-12)
  • cable needle
  • scissors ,crochet hook (optional), blunt darning needle for sewing the pieces and ends together.

Note: Repeat the three cable sections until most of the yarn is used up. Ensure that each of the three sections is the same length before casting off. The three sections will be joined and one has the option to circularize the scarf to make a snood by sewing the ends together as I did for this scarf.

Abbreviations:
  • K = knit
  • P = purl
