DIY Re-purpose: Christmas star decoration from packaging material

BushcraftZ 2014
Packaging material made out of cardboard triangles inspired this project. I use the symmetrical shapes of the packaging material create stars that I have used for rustic Christmas decor.

Materials:
  • Cardboard triangular packaging materials
  • Clear drying craft glue, string and cloth pegs

Method:

  1. Place two cardboard triangles back to back and glue them together with craft clue. Use the clothes peg to hold the pieces together until the glue has dried. Make several of these triangle-duos. One needs 6-8 to make a star.

  2. Arrange the triangle-duos in to form a star. In my case I used 7 of these to form a star.
  3. Take the strung and thread the triangle-duos together. Make a knot to secure the star. Leave enough string to create a loop in order to hang the decoration.

TIP: The stars can also be sprayed with paint for a more colourful appearance.
